Never in a million years did I think I would say this, but I need a few cartridges of 126 film to put through an interesting pre-1970 camera a friend gave me. Anyone know the current status of this film?

Think I can get fresh import brand from J&C, and probably (I haven't looked) Kodak brand on EBay. But I just want a few rolls, and I'm wondering if you can still see a roll or two of Kodak on the shelf of the local camera store. Seems to me I saw it within the last year or two.  I can hear myself telling my wife...in a voice like the kid on the Simpsons...Haa Haa, these guys still have 126 film..Haa Haa.  Now I need  some real bad! Go figure.

Maybe more important difficult than purchasing the film will be locating someone who knows how to open the cartidges and process it. I would like to get it scanned to CD. Is it processable in the same lab tanks as 35mm? Will the local Fuji Frontier operators balk when they see a 126 cartridge? For that matter, where is the 110 film which I still see on the shelves developed these days? How come I know so little?

JandC is probably your best bet, unless you see some on a shelf somewhere, Tom.  At least you know it's fresh from JandC, and you won't get some guy trying to charge you $10 for shipping with the ebay route.  JandC shipping is quite reasonable.  I just ordered 30 rolls of film from them last night, and Priority mail for it was $8.
I live in a small town (3500), and the one hour photo place here can still do 126 on their machine, which is a fairly modern unit.  Robert, the store owner told me it runs on the same track as 35mm film.  I had a roll of old Kodak 126 done there about a year ago, and walking out of the store with 12 4x4 in prints sent me back to 1968, a kid again, with fresh prints from my Instamatic.  Tongue
I think Wal Marts still do 110.  Don't know about putting stuff on CD, though.
