The first is from Michael Poliza, a professional photographer who recently took a helicopter trip (yeowzza - can't imagine the fuel bills) across Africa, shooting aerial images all the way. Many if not all the shots in his book that resulted are now on Flickr.

And M Napper is one of my contacts on Flickr. He does these INCREDIBLE travel journals, and lately he has been photographing the pages from past journals (done in the late 90's it seems) which are very rich and imaginative. Photography, drawing, painting, collage, etc. And he has also been experimenting with some simple camera tricks & collaborations, like putting a piece of paper in the lower half of his camera's film chamber, shooting a roll of film that way, and then sending it to a friend who has a camera set up similarly, only his camera has the upper half of the film chamber blocked by a piece of paper. The result is a half-and half, sometimes quarter-half-quarter, with interesting effects. He also seems to do something where he pulls the film out in the dark, marks the film with paint?markers?pens? and then winds the film back into the cassette, shoots, develops, and the results are kind of wacky cool.

Both are excellent.  I had seen some of the African aerial images before.  M Napper is great -- very entertaining.
