Here are a couple of photos taken as we passed though Radium, British Columbia a couple of weeks ago.

As usual the whole lot of them were next to the road muching away.
and, as usual some stupid tourists stopped and got out of their car to get  a closer photo with their tiny digicam.

I say stupid, because, well look at the size of those horns! Getting out of your car around wild animals is not a good idea.

Anyway, as you can see in the second shot, they scared the beautiful creatures away.

Oh well, it was a pleasure to see them as long as we did.

EDIT: BTW - Ilford FP4+, Ilfosol S, Canon Elan 7N, 75-300mm lens, yellow filter, Minolta Scan Dual II, scanned as slide and tweaked in PS.

Nice shots, Andre'.  I sympathise with your frustration at having your opportunity spoiled by thoughtless people.  It happens to all of us, unfortunately.

The first one is magnificent but for those pesky blades of grass!  The 2nd is well a typical buttshot thanks to your tourist "friends".  The is certainly a different between the really wild sheep and those that are used to humans.  Even with 300mm of reach, its hard to approach the really wild ones that closely.

I have seen more than one stupid tourist get themselves within real danger, especially with Elk.  They can be very aggressive in the mating season and when calves are involved.  There was a jogger in Banff (or was it Jasper?) that was mauled when she inadvertantly passsed between a mother (seen) and baby hidden on the opposite side of the path.

Better delete these before the Welshman sees 'em.

These look pretty well fed. I am surprised they left. Last time I was in Glacier National Park, a mountain goat (the white ones with stubby horns) butted our car when we wouldn't give him a cookie. Sort of like a junkie he was. Sad.

I re-staged the photo, but clipped the small blade of grass as per the previous suggestion. The sheep were quite co-operative, after I gave them a cookie of course Wink

Nice cloning. The grass, not the sheep.

Last time I was up your way, I had an awful time finding critters to photograph. Right place, wrong time I guess. I did get a few butt shots but they were too far away to even keep. I'm jealous.
