It's not that I needed another ringflash device, but Tesco's had a special offer on stainless steel pudding bowls ...



Very thin metal, so it did not take long to grind out the openings.  So thin, in fact, that I can firmly screw two filter rings together with the bowl between.  And it's highly polished on the inside.



Here's a sample.  First shot is late afternoon sunlight (yes, the sun came back) ...



Second shot is sun-balanced ringflash ...



Now you can see what was hiding in the shadows.

Using the ringflash off camera, tripod mounted like a small beauty dish, with umbrella above the other side to balance ...

This one's 70mm diameter.  Larger would be good!
