In case you guys want to shoot your cameras
Just a big cardboard box. I taped the flaps to give it more depth. The background is just craft foam in various colors. I need some bigger pieces so as to have a wider background. I use two flashes but two desk or work lights could be used. especially the clip on kind with the new daylight spiral flourescent

This angle shows the holes I cut and the tissue paper taped over it. I need to find some white parachute silk or ripstop as the tissue paper is not very durable or cat proof

here is a side view, the peanuts are optional
I used the pieces I cut out to stand in front of the flash to keep the light off the lens. You can point the flash forward to have a dark background or backwards for a high key. You can also feather the light for more depth of the shadows.
I hope this helps

Peanuts are never optional Smiley. Do you by chance have a pic of the flower in the box. I have seen a few different versions of this done here now and the results have been great. I'd love to see what came of this one as well. thanks for sharing, grizz.

It helps if you have a handheld lightmeter. I use a Polaris flash/incident

Yeah, my light meter has no flash meter.  I test my setups with a crappy point and shoot.  I put the setup in my darkroom, set the shutter speed to 1 second, then I trigger the flashes during that one second, take a look at teh digi shot and guess how many stops I overexposed ... Don't want to much film and with no DSLR or flash meter this is the easiest way to predict results I have found..

Your results are certainly very good.
