I've got an idea for a project, and it involves colored gels placed over the lens or flash. I need a pretty good variety. Anybody got an idea where I could get one of those "sample packs" of gels? It would probably be a good idea to have some one hand for flash work anyway.
Thanks in advance!

If you're ordering from B&H, you can add one to your order for $.01 (1 penny). Otherwise, it can be ordered free from Rosco here.

I ordered some from Rosco more than a few weeks ago and I'm assuming that they will turn up eventually. In the meantime, just today, I bought a box of chocolates that I know are wrapped in coloured film.
Crap chocolate (British) but the colours look OK - yellow, orange, blue, and yellow/blue for a green. Just in the process of flattening them now. Will tape them to squares of OHP film.

I've played around with some of these colored Rolodex card protectors I borrowed from work. The downsides are: limited color choice (orange, blue, green, red & yellow) and really intense color.

Here are some shots I took while playing around with said Rolodex "gels" last October. I was trying to liven up website pictures of our plant with a bit of color. These pictures were taken with a Canon PowerShot A70, and I used the on-board flash (lowest manual setting) to fire a SunPak 444 with an optical slave. The gels were used on the SunPak.

you might want to run to Michael's or the equivalent craft store, and buy some clear colored wrapping paper. or floral wrap, basically the same thing. you're not going to find any color you want, but it's cheap and easy. the colors will be pretty strong though. ideal for flash rather than lens cover.

I ordered some from that company Kin suggested. I really want something good enough to use over the lens, so that looks to be my best option for now.
I also need a full spectrum of colors, so there you go.

Porters.com sells them if I am not mistaken.... Hobby Lobby has them too.
