With the fuzzy framing drawing focus to the sharp central area, as well as the arresting color splash of that car, this photo is a real eye-catcher, Andre.  Good catch!  I slightly minded the out-of-focus wire going diagonally across the frame, but the overall effect from that location is just stunning.

Yes, the centre catch is nicely brought out by the fuzzy surrounds.

As above, nice shot. That yellow really catches the eye.  I have a neighbor with a front yard that looks a bit like that.

Very nice shot.  Junkyards are under-used as photo locations.

Good use of colour. I imagine the out-of-focus lines to be part of the fence, so no problem there.

Looking at the busted tail-lights and the trunk, you can almost see a sad face.

Good eye, nice idea - worth of refining if you can access the area again. You had the right light for the shot.

Also, a good example of how to use color in a composition. I tried converting your image to BW, and although it is still good, much of the impact is lost; the white car in the left becomes almost equally prominent as the taxi.

Thank you for all your comments. I WILL be going back there to take more photos. I drive by this junkyard on the way to work everyday, but only see it from the highway, and everyday I say to myself - I need to use some film over there....

I also like the use of the color and soft focus as it draws the viewer into the image.

Nice photo. I like it.
What camera and film?

Thanks,
Shot with a Canon Elan 7n, on Fuji Sensia 100 slide film. Can't remember the lens, but probably the Canon EF 75-300mm USM. Scanned on my Minolta Scan Dual II.
A little photoshop work to make the colours bolder, that's about it.
