It appears that pigeons and gulls may have expressed their own views of the first governor, notwithstanding the tribute of his constituents. (What was his name, by the way?)
Nice set, Joseph. The quiet nature of the locale comes through very well.

Actually, the meter cell appears to be working fine -- agrees closely enough with other cameras and meters I have, and isn't jumpy. It's just the dang switch. Can't pry the button out, or use a suction cup, so disassembly seems to be the only option to get it working properly again. Will be most interested in your explorations, Phil.

Anyone know how to work on these? I recently got an an F with this finder and a couple of lenses. It had been stored somewhere humid for a while, so there is some surface corrosion and a little crud/fungus in the eyepiece, which does interfere with focusing some. There is some discrete desilvering on the corners, but that doesn't present a problem. So I'd like to get inside the eyepiece to clean it.
Also -- the meter "on" button is jammed in against the body of the finder, so I can't switch the meter off. The "off" button will push down, but it pops back up. Hard to tell if it's physically jammed, or if it's corrosion that is causing the problem. Does anyone know how to get at this mechanism?
I'm not sure that I am competent to do this work, but I may be game if it doesn't appear too difficult. Thanks.

Amen, Dean. Man, I'd love to find a Tele-Koniflex! The Argus ad mentions lenses "by Lithagon" -- interesting. I thought Lithagon was an Enna-Werk brandname, so maybe this reflects the licensing deal.
And I haven't even mentioned Brigitte Bardot; I guess that's a sign I'm too far gone.... Taken by Philippe Halsman, no less.

Will's comment goes for me too. I try to follow what's going on but the descriptions too often leave me behind. This is especially true with any discussion of work on a leaf shutter (pawl? pallet? star wheel? cam follower?) -- which is really too bad since knowing how to service those things would be really great.

I was inspired by this thread -- I have one of these that's had problems, so haven't used it: the lever doesn't return by itself, and (more significantly) the shutter blades are sticky. Last night I got at the shutter blades with a judicious amount of naphtha and I think she's cured! Need to keep testing it to be sure, but I am optimistic.
Getting at the shutter blades is very easy -- the front lens group just unscrews. And the entire shutter comes off by unscrewing the retaining ring around the rear element with a pin spanner. My camera has the Konirapid MFX, not the Seikosha. The Konirapid doesn't have the EV interlock either; I think this shutter was on earlier versions of the camera.
I am very much looking forward to finally using it.
