this is one of the five wild kittens, who are honing their stunt work during September, I am foster homing the five for the OSPCA who are pretty full up with many sets of kittens, wild and abandoned.... she has two very light paws on her right side, thus Sugarfoot. Her calico sister, Cadbury, is darker.....I am still struggling to get shots of these gals, three black ones round out the team, with my Nikon 5700 and SB80DX camera, a not inconsiderable financial investment.
One trick I tried in the last bunch was to reduce the file size, since the shots were for web use, set the camera to shoot Continuous High Speed and this resulted in three flash shot bursts, some of which almost turned out. Still having trouble with AF being fooled and so on.
It is not the brightest of rooms anymore because three trees my family planted in front ot the room block most direct sunlight. When I attempt non flash shots and boost exposure compensation by 1 or 2 stops I get stuck with some pretty slow shutter speeds 1/4 second or slower, even when I boost the ISO to 400. I can only imagine what people are trying to pull off with small kids and fleeting expressions. I would estimate I have taken close to 250 photos since the end of August and only five or six are worth a darn.
