Hey there, Dan.  James McKearney forwarded your message to see if I can help.

Not sure, but here's an attempt.

If you log into photobucket from your web browser (not the app) and go to the upload page (click upload at top of home page), you'll see a link on the right that says "Customize Upload Options."  You can set that to a small size, then upload by clicking "Browse Files."  This will take you to your photo albums on your iPad.  You select what you want to upload and go.

So, don't use the app to upload, use your web browser with picture size very small.

Hope that helps!

Yes.  This is much more what I was thinking.  I think a single person, looking into the shot (away from the camera) would be best.

Hi James,

I much prefer the B&W.  I think it shows the curvature in the tunnel on the right side of the image in a more three dimensional way.

I think the moving sidewalks provide a major leading line, in conjunction with the lines of lights.  However, I feel like they should lead to something in the picture.  I can image being back a little further, and showing a person standing at the end of the moving sidewalk nearest you.  It needs a focal point at the end of those leading lines.  I feel like the real subject may be outside the frame, beside you.

If I can get a day free, I'll do my best to get James' creative thoughts flowing.  It's been too busy lately.

Good to hear from both James and Les!

Les and Claudia - sorry for the delayed response.

So nice to see you both doing well!  I've been off Nelson's for too long!

Wow, James.  That sensor seems to show uncounted levels of intensity.  The Capitol picture looks like something from a large format camera.

Don't make me leave Lumix/Leica now...

I'm most in favor of the shadows on steps.  A Takumar 35/f2, huh?  Don't think I've seen one of those.  My Takumar 35/f3.5 is a beauty, but f2 must be REALLY nice.

Hi James - sorry I couldn't join for some LX5 photography.  Mine has been neglected recently, but I did loan it to my wife to do some photography of a house she's renovated for sale.  The 24mm equivalent and iAuto worked out quite well for her.

Thanks for sharing your results!

I hope some of you find it useful!  Writing it has helped me to understand the camera at a whole new level.

Actually, now that I look more closely, I see the plug wires.  They are indeed uninsulated, and go off at right angles to the axis of the plug.

Dennis - I want to second (or third) the compliments on your use of fill-flash in these shots.  This is a weakness on the Lumix cameras.  I am starting to think the problem is the lack of distance information transmitted from the lens to the body.  I can get decent results with an external flash set to minimal manual power, but that's about the only way I've found so far.  And, of course, that relies on maintaining a near-constant distance from your subject for consistency - not exactly easy at events, etc.

Anyway, nice job with the Nikon system.
