OK so I went ahead and bought another Ansco Viking online so that we could keep the project going. I hope to have it here next week and in good working shape soon after that. I also hope that people are still interested in taking their turn with the camera in the US leg of the tour as I am most anxious to complete the whole project. Any thoughts? I believe JEd in New York is next and I haven't seen or heard from the original camera so I will send the new one out ASAP. Thanks all.

Good on you Mike. Hopefully the original Hagar will surface soon - it'd be a real shame to lose it (and the notebook) after they've travelled so far. You never know, maybe we'll have two Hagars winging around the USA soon, so that the project can be completed in double time...

I'm still in, whenever Hagar or Hagar Jr. manage to find their way to North Carolina...

I think I was on that list but if not could you would add me?
I was thinking of starting another camera on the rounds if anyone is interested. it is a simple Zenit B. Total manual. It will come with a preset 58mm lens a F:2 limited shutter speeds but it works.

I am still interested in being on the list. I hope the original Hagar shows up though.

I just got the camera and need to take a bit of time to reset the focus and unstick it. This has been a problem on all the Ansco folders I have gotten but is an easy fix. The bellows seem to be light tight so I am hoping that we won't have to worry about that on the next leg of the trip. Thank you all for your patience and help.

The Agfa/Ansco "green glob of death" grease causes this common issue. Good luck and drop me a note if you need any assistance.
FWIW - where was the last known location of Hagar?

Hawaii was the last known location. I contacted Mark, but no reply.

I think Mark K. was supposed to send Hagar to J. Ed in NY, but I wonder if it was ever sent or received?

Mark K is AWOL - on the "sh*t list" for failing to deliver bellows to several customers here.

I know, that's why I wondered if it was ever sent. Too bad, I thought for sure Hagar would make it back home. Hopefully Hagar Jr. can finish the trip.

The last contact I had with Mark was to verify my address. I assumed he was sending Hagar then, but he never arrived and I couldn't get any response from Mark. This took place back in late April or early May.

Are you adding anyone new to the list? If so, I would be willing.

Well, I finally got a couple of minutes to work on the camera. I had to remove the lens, soak it for a day or so, and use the hose clamps trick to seperate the elements. I took a bit of time and cleaned up the shutter, although it was in pretty good shape. After getting everything back together, I used used wax paper and reset the lens to the correct focal distance. I am sending out the camera tomorrow so we are on our way...again.
I really don't have a problem with adding a couple of more folks who live in the states. I would really, really, really, like to speed things up.
Thanks all.
