When I was a kid, we called this 'puppy love." Apparently, there is a more amorous version as practiced in Italy. The young Italian girl's attitude didn't fit the mores of the time. Her parents couldn't stop laughing at her aggressive moves. Claudia and I were equally amused to see how the two kids hit it off on their first "date."

I'll need to hunt through my kid pics, stuff from my "baby book" kept by my mother, if I can find them/it. I know I had a tremendous crush on my younger cousin, but I was generally girl-crazy throughout my youth.

Here's one from a November meal with Teresa and her lad, Christian...smart as a whip, that one! The first meal Katie and I took with T and her boy-man was at their home; Christian was reading Haruki Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase, which made him the apple of my eye, immediately. IQ136, he's in like Flynn.

Katie adores him, too. He's the only boy she's met so far who has treated her with extreme respect. "Dad, he was reading to me that night!"

Indeed.

"No boy has ever done that!"

Indeed.

Teresa?

Yes?

Prepare the groom's estate.

For those that never saw this before, this is puppy love ratched up a bit.

My son Marc is role playing what he saw in Italian movies. Here he is acting as if he's Marcello Mastroianni and my Italian friend's pre-school daughter is playing the role of a young Sofia Loren.

I wrote about my puppy love in Larry's new thread:"FSU Commie Camera Day" and thought this old thread  "Precocious Puppy Love" needed an update. How much bolder the next generation became. I was just a no action voyeur in kindergaten, but by first grade in Italy, Marc was much more mature, and a lot better looking than his Dad.

Oh, to be 70 again.
