Adap-a-matic work around

After trading an Adapt-a-matic lens with Raid, and subsequently scouring the www and other dim dark places for a Adapt-a-Matic mount in M42...without much success
here is the surprisingly simple and effective workaround:
the Adapt-a-Matic thread is 58mm.
so i took a 58mm filter ring and ground off the external thread to effectively make a 58-58 internal coupling ring , using a belt sander
then i simply screw that onto a K-mount 58mm reversing adapter.
Problem solved and there are no Dramas (in this instance ) with infinity issues.I don't know how this method will work with other mounts but i would think the results will be similar.
in a previous design i stepped from 58-58/49-49mm reversing mount and that was no issue either, other than i had an extra stepping ring in there(58/49)
and i am of the opinion that the less connections between lens and camera, the better:thumbsup2:
and it's cheap...bottom feeder stuff

I am glad that things worked out well.
I would have been unhappy if the trade had gone bad for you.

There's always more than one way of skinning a cat .:thumbsup2:
i am quite pleased with the lens, raid.
If push came to shove, i would have invested in a Canon body to go with the adapter you sent me.
