I am always a bit surprised to find lengthy quotes from the vintage cameras section of my web site embedded in ebay listings.  I really wouldn't mind if there was some attribution since I'm not out to make money from my site.  The most recent was a listing for a Vigilant which was just a short time from the auction ending.  I sent the guy an email.  Next time I see something like this with a little more lead time, I'm going to make the guy sweat a bit.

Lazy, good-for-nothing money-grubbers. Sheesh.

I think Mike Elek has had similar issues:

I vote for making 'em sweat.

The problem that I encountered was that I had written about specific mechanical issues I had with a particular camera, which were repeated verbatim in the description of the item for sale. This happened on several occasions.

With most sellers, I wrote them a polite note asking them to remove my text from their page. That usually did the trick. A couple of them needed sterner language ("If I'm helping you to sell this camera, then I should be given part of the proceeds." -- that always worked.)

And of course there was the incident in which Henry Scherer's Web developer lifted the image from my site. I didn't notice this, because I don't visit Henry's site.

Apparently, an apology was made, although I never saw it, because I had left RFF by the time it was posted ... or wherever it was posted.
