I keep hearing about this but am not sure what it means. I dug one out of a box today, getting ready to sell it. Is the shutter release supposed to remain down until wound on, or is that the symptom of death pad? My release returns immediately, not after winding on. I had the cover off, the pad is intact and looks good to me but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see either! Thanks.

Here is an outstanding link on how to fix this and other things that might become a problem.  It is worth the hassle; I really like my Electro.

I need to do this on at least 2 Electro's I own. One has shutter speeds that sound OK, but tends to underexpose. I guess that will be my next rainy day project (if the wife doesn't make me paint the bedroom).

LOL! Actually she does want to paint it. However, the last time she painted, she also got it on the carpet and dog!
