I thought that might get your attention.  Just a quick announcement that, after about six weeks of listing and only two sales, the Bel-Jac will not be listed for sale at eBay.  At least for a while.  It's depressing.  Anyone feel like commiserating?

Well, don't give up entirely. Keep it in your pocket and mention it periodically on forums where Agfa cameras get discussed.

There was a guy who made this terrific aluminum battery cap for Leica M cameras. The one that Leica makes out of plastic that cracks, breaks and falls off. Just when I was about to order one, he stopped making them and the website disappeared. I am guessing he had a hard time making a go of it too.

So you can have a good product, but still not be able to sell enough to do anything about it. Don't feel bad in other words.

Jorn, you good fellow.

I'm keeping a page up at my website that's devoted to it, so maybe some interest will be generated thru that venue.

It is depressing.  Offer a product and it goes nowhere.  Same with the lensboards.  I feel yer pain.

Pete, if it's any consolation, the Boing-Boing site had a 'Makers' section where all sorts of neat and interesting things that you never thought you needed were for sale.  They took the site down this week due to slow sales.  It may just be a part of the overall economy, or there just aren't enough folks out there with Agfas and Anscos needing bellows repair.  Maybe you could sell them in different colors like Sandeha's.  I know those are real attention getters.

Hey, now, I had considered colors, but I have yards of this black leatherette and can't justify the supply without the demand.  I don't think I've heard of the boing-boing site, do you have a link?

It's at http://www.boingboing.net/ .  It's mostly a blog about current events and the arts, and they are really into steampunk.  I think Scott would get a hoot out of some things they post.  Though they took down the Makers section, they still post a lot of stuff about new products, and maybe you could get your Bel-JakRs on there.

Thanks, Philip.  I just read my first-ever steampunk novel, by the way.  What an imagination the author had, too: Stephen Hunt, The Kingdom Beyond the Waves.  He created not only a steampunk environment, he fashioned an entire world of fantastical critters.
