Hi, all -

Was shooting pics of the kids a few minutes ago, and the shutter locked open.  I think I'd inadvertantly locked the mirror up halfway (didn't even know it had MLU), but the film was exposed and the advance was locked.  By the time I moved the shutter speed selector and closed the shutter, I'd pretty much boogered the roll (drat).

Sound familiar to anyone?  Is there an issue with this shutter hanging open?

I do know the MLU on the FT2 can be bit a sticky some times.  The grooved slide latch on the side of the lens mount sometimes takes some effort to lock it up and to open it back up. Sometimes, the slide can be partially activated so maybe this was the problem?  When you push the latch/lever down it sometimes feels like it stops but you have to give it a little extra push to fully disengage it.

Anyway,  not sure if this was the problem.    Is the camera functioning normally now?

I really think that was at the root of the issue, Jim.  After screwing up the roll, I moved the shutter speed ring and it closed.  Since then, I've messed with it dozens of times, with and without MLU, and nary a hitch.  Have another roll in it now.  Actually, Maddie's home sick today, so I think I'm gonna fire off some sick-day shots...
