Finally got around to trying something in PSE8 that I needed the proper image for. When I saw this image in the view finder, I knew it was the right candidate for some experimentation. It needs a bit more work in my estimation, like feathering the edges of the layers to blend in better, but don't know if it will do that. Craig Creek Standout by br1078phot, on Flickr PF

I think more contrast may be needed the reflection over shadows the tree.

Yeah Larry, I used the highlighted scenery filter instead of the regular one. I might fool around with it a bit more. But it was a really strong reflection anyway, as you can see in the original version.

Well it is just my opinion and we all have one it is just that I tend to give mine more than others.

That's where I figured a bit of feathering along the edges of the reflection would help. And this is the critiquing forum after all.

Here is the original PSE8 version Craig Creek Standout by br1078phot, on Flickr And here is the modified version Craig Creek Standout ver 2 by br1078phot, on Flickr I used a different conversion filter for the background, and took some contrast out of the reflection in the river, while feathering the edges of the reflection. I did another version using the infrared conversion filter, but it was a bit much PF

I like #2 better but I think the tree could be more vivid.. just my uneducated opinion.
