I love hydro-electric power stations and water pumping plants.  All that big, cast iron machinery just looks great when lined up in rows.  These are great photos, Kallie.

thanks
i have posted a set from this venue twice before from when i first visited the place and then a second set from 2 years ago when i had my MF cameras with me. This particular plant is decomissioned and a museum now, The pipes supplying the water were made of King Billie Pine....outlasted the cast iron pipes.
there is another Hydro plant in the south west of tasmania that is virtually identical in design , but , unlike Waddamana is a fully working Powersation. and you have full access to the place. the generators are slightly larger in capacity , and supply the towns of Queenstown , Zeehan and Strachan and surrounding areas with power as well as being interconnected with the rest of the Tasmanian Grid. On my next Trip to Tassie this will be one of the places we will visit again. the south west of the island is superb,as well as wild.

Good job in un-losing the film.  The pictures look as though they could have been taken a few decades ago - a nice timeless quality.

You should head over to our deep south and visit the underground powerstation at Manapouri some day.

a few years ago i worked and supervised and gang of Kiwi electricians who specialised in drying out HV Transformer coils. one of their previous jobs was drying out the step up/transmission Transformers at Manapouri. i heard some very interesting stories ....the technical difficulties were extreme. top bunch of guys though.
