Hi Les,
I like this crop of the image.
I was less likely to take snapshots with a MF camera than with a 35mm camera.

I will check my work schedule.

My favorites are the fog pics.  I can't believe that you'd let a camera go unused for 9 years!  Wow.  It did some good work for you.

done well raid.yes you should get the MF kit out more often.
i am actually rather fond of the pentacon 6 lenses. i have one in particular that i use with a p6 to k mount adapter that i use when i do a bit of astro photography. it'ts a big hunk of glass that just seems to pull in the light. it's the same lens i use on another p6-kmount shift lens adapter.
i think there will a few Pentacon 6 bargains out there if people are willing to use adapters.the lenses are just superb as they ought to be seeing that they are cousins to the FSU lenses that i also adore

Thanks.
Yes, there are some good bargains in Zeiss Jena glass for the Pentacon 6. I have the 180mm/2.8 which is a gorgeous piece of glass. Is it that one or do you have a longer lens for astro photography?
It is a small inconvenience to use lenses in a closed-aperture mode when you can get Zeiss quality for less than 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost of Zeiss (West Germany) lenses.

I also have a 65mm Zeiss Jena lens. My normal lens is a Mamiya 80/2.8. It is small and sharp.

i use the Vega 125 2.8/90  for night shooting.for some reason this lens is exceptionally clear. occasionally i also use a CZJ biometar 2.8/80. both are   Pentacon 6 mounts and are used in a P6-K mount shift adapter from Arax Photo.
i have another lens some where that i use but i can't put me hands on at the moment.

I read good things about the 80mm Biometar, but my camera came with the Mamiya 80mm/2.8, so I never got the Biometar. Others seems to prefer the 80/2.0 or 80/1.8 (I forgot) Mamiya lens.

Is the Vega a German lens or ..? Some lenses are very good for light absorption. The Angeneiux lenses are known for this property.

Raid,

I have second thoughts about your first shot of Lina. I think your comment about her moody expression put a virtual scrim in front of my eyes. Looking at it afresh, I can now see it's a great shot and although Lina's  expression is intense it reflects a complex thought process, not just a non smiling face. There is a lot to read into the multifacets of her facial muscles. It is not a scowl. It's contemplative in my book. What is on her mind is unknown, but it has the power of being attractive, as strong as metal filings to a magnet.

Second thought---- a fascinating photo. QED!

Les,
Lina is a very expressive person, and she makes sure to show her feelings to all around her. If she is like me, she will have a highly imaginary sense to things and people around her. Imagination is a major player in her life and since several years.

Thanks for your feedback. It is always appreciated.

Beautiful work, Raid.  Like many others, I just love that first shot.  Very poetic for a photograph!

i have to repost my reply.... forgot to hit the 'post button last night.

the Vega is a FSU lens manufactured by Arsenal.it was a standard lens issued with the Salyut MF camera, my lens dates from 1977. and is absolutely pristine no dust, no oil no haze.if you can find one in pristine condition ...you got a great lens. i use the lens with adapters on Pentax(35, digi and MF) and Mamiya MF.  great lens why not use it with all systems.

So the "Vega 125" is a 90mm MF lens.
Thanks for the information. I doubt it that I will buy large lenses again as I have so many already.

actually it physically it's not a large lens but it does have a viewing angle of 47degrees. and for low light application , even though it a 2.8 it just seems to perform. if you were to come across one for around $20.0-30.00 then that would be money well spent. i got mine dirt cheap  ....i think i only payed 20 or so dollars for mine...
