Amazon had it for $79.99 and free shipping. It is on the way at that price Smiley.

Excellent.  The Tamrac 5680 is the perfect case for it and a spare battery and SD card.

Ok James. Here are my first impressions. This is just of the make and feel since I have not shot anything other than my cat and coffee yet. First and foremost it is tiny. This was a major requirement for me and it has met that in spades. It fits in the pocket better than my cell phone (old razr3g which is tiny). Being so tiny it has the initial appearance of being a toy camera. But it is made of some form of metal, aluminum I guess, and is fairly well made. It has no bells and whistles. I knew this going in. For $79.00 shipped this is expected and I am OK with it. IT has Panasonic's ia dumb mode which is some form of smarter program mode. I am familiar with this from my Lumix G2 and it actually can work OK. As stated I really wanted Aperture priority but found that not doable in this price range. My guess is the camera will live on ia dumb mode and I will live with it. It has a bunch of pre set styles but the controls are very small and I doubt I will use them. I might look into the scene mode for landscapes. The processor in it is fast. It previews images much faster than the G9. All in all it is what I was thinking it would be. I really can't see buying a $400 Canon s100 when this can be had for $79. The S100 has no hot shoe which the G9 does so I think the combo of the G9 and the FH2 will be good. I doubt the flash is worth peanuts on this but will hold that comment till I test it. I plan on shooting it today and will report back on that later.

Grizzz - As you probably know, the iA mode is totally automatic everything.  The "Normal Picture" mode is auto-exposure, but it allows you to lock certain items such as ISO and White Balance.  I agree that the teensy buttons don't make frequent changes of the various scene modes too attractive, but you may want to single one out for the "My Scene" mode.  I have this set to "Scene Mode" (aka Landscape).  Yeah, it is tiny, maybe worrisomely so for a shirt pocket.  I keep mine in the belt case I mentioned (it feels like this case was made for this camera).

Yes I do James which is why I jokingly say dumb mode. I will do a test after work the next time it is not raining and see how a few of the scenes do. Some of them are kind of comical but who knows which ones I actually find fit my style. I'm not a case guy and it will just sit in my pocket. It has been in there since I got it and is fine. It works as a fine grab shot inside camera but i am more interested in what it will do outside. Maybe tomorrow morning before work if the weather is nice. I hate this rain Sad. I may get relocated downtown for work and this with my ipad would be the best combo I could think of for riding the metro Smiley. Time will tell on that.

OK, I am a slacker but I did shoot some shots with this little guy on the golf course which is what I wanted to do. Just never got around to posting them till now. Here are 4 shots without any manipulation other than to size for the web. The camera was really good at being in my pocket and at the ready. I did not mess up my golf game or my playing partners which is what happens with the bigger rigs.

Very nice, Grizzz.  I was wondering how you've taken to this capable little camera.

That's a lovely course, and well photographed, too.  May your golf shots be as true as your camera shots.

Thanks guys. My golf game is in the crapper since i had my knee replaced over Christmas. The third picture in the set is my favorite and is not the same course as the other three. It is actually considered to be the worst course in MD by many people but I love the place. The conditions are what they are for a 20 buck daily fee course. This third shot is from the green back to the tee of a 200 yard par3 that is easily the hardest hole on the course. It is misleading as the green is elevated as are the tees. You do not see the valley in the middle that makes up the 200 yards, In contrast to the $20 daily fee course the other 3 pictures are from a country club with a $5k a year membership. the hole is also a 200 yard par 3 but I chose to show the valley in this one. If I showed the valley in the third image it would have shown some beat up landscape and ruined it. On the others it does show some dormant grass (these were taken in early April in MD) but the creek with the bridge are a little easier to look at. All in all I like the little Lumix for this type of shooting and will continue to use it on the course.....Griz
