First, a confession: While the PHP exploit was/is very real and a major headache, we were hacked due to personal neglect. Months back, maybe a couple of years now, when we last had a bad bit of road and I needed to employ a workaround, effectively turning off the Apache security for our account. This made it very easy for hackers to exploit the PHP code, thus.

Now, I've got a clean instance of SMF running. The database, hand-loaded because it was and remains hella large, too large for pushing uphill via PHPMyAdmin. I should have left it in place, but was concerned it might have been compromised. Hindsight, etc.

So, looks like everything is ship-shape once more. Themes, etc., are what they are for now. This is a stock installation and after the hours I've spent the last two weeks, trying to get it back on its feet, I'm in no mood for tinkering with honey-dos.

All topics and PMs should be preserved. If not, they're gone. Period. Either they are in the database, or they are not.

Any questions, feel free to post here. I'll be eyeballing the sight over the next 48 hours or so to get a jump on any bullshit that might come our way. However, we ought to be in good shape now.

C.

I tried to post a message on one of the forums and got a error 403 message:

Your PHP settings have been disabled by an H-Sphere administrator.

Your current PHP configuration:
This configuration was changed: Wed May 23 16:17:50 UTC 2012
Please bring your PHP configuration in compliance with admin settings or request your administrator to re-enable support of your settings.

So what do I need to do to post - hopefully this message will post.  Smiley

I third that and think that maybe it's time for some of us to give back to the site - specifically me.

I'm still no-go on new threads, but I'm *guessing* that it's cookie-related.  But my sorry butt's too tired, and the bed is calling.  I'll try ag'in manana...

Don't want to be alarmist, but I just got a warning about an "HTML/Framer" virus.  AVG suggested quarantine, which I accepted.  Anyone else experiencing this?
