I received this in my e-mail on the 20th. I've no idea who this person is or why they contacted me. I've never owned a Rolleiflex, assume they noted some other thread before the outage, then sent an e-mail to the only person they could think of: Me, the owner of the forums.

At any rate, if the query rings a bell with any of you, feel free to pick up the lead and run with it. I've included the individual's e-mail address.

Hi,

I'm reaching out because I saw on a post/forum that you mentioned buying a
rolleiflex from a seller in Austin. Do you happy to remember who that
seller was, or at least when this was? The reason I ask is because I
believe my younger brother sold our grandfather's prewar rolleiflex and I'm
trying to track it down.

Hope you don't think this is too random.

Thank you,
Erica Lichtenberger

This sounds really interesting. I hope this fellow tracks down the camera.

Well CE is gone for the weekend I think we should leave him alone since it has been this long.

Hi all. Philip let me know my name had come up. I bought that Rolleiflex a long while ago. Sam still lived in Brooklyn then, so that has to be back in what, 2006? 2007? I don't see a date on the original post so I can't confirm that. It has since been sold along with another Rolleiflex here on Nelsonfoto. Both were in OK condition but had their issues, even with Krimar CLA's. At least, that's what I remember.

I don't remember the film in the camera. I can't find the scan on my hard drive or on Flickr. I must have deleted it. I do remember the photo itself after reading the description. Somehow though I don't remember that photo as coming from a camera of mine but from someone else who was doing found-film development. It must have been me though. The brain is a strange and mysterious organ. I just wish I could remember where I put mine.

Amazingly, I did find the record of the original purchase because it was filed in tax info. The last name of the person who sold it to me is not Lichtenberger. That doesn't mean the guy is not this woman's brother, but until I have more information, I hesitate to give away anyone's name in case this is some sort of scam. If she lets us know her brother's name, I will be happy to confirm whether or not the names match.
