I was just given this little camera yesterday, and not knowing much about it, decided to do a little research.  Turns out I've been given quite a little gem!  It's even been compared to a Leica M7.  Any comments/suggestions?

Woo-Hoo!  You've got one of the little jems of photography there, Nancy.  I don't shoot mine enough, but it is a great performer.

Yes, my suggestion is ... send it to me! You'll just feel bad having gotten it for free and this will balance out the Karma and all that.  Cool  OR as Pete says, use it! and be sure to post the results!

 Nancy,

By reputation and many owners' comments, the Olympus 35 RC gets high praise as a great compact camera. Never owned one, but found its first cousin, an Olympus 35EC, in the large St. Augustine flea market. Used it for ~four years then swapped it for another camera or a  lens  with a NFf member (forget who) I loved the easy handling and big viewfinder. Believe it has the same lens as the 35 RC .

Know you'll enjoy using it. Shoot it in the best of health!

Great camera, when given the chance I bought a Rollei35 but I think this one produces images on the same quality and is well built

Enjoy it!

Good find. Nancy. Similar to Les, I used a 35EC2 which is an automated, no-rangefinder version. Nice compact camera with a good lens. 35RC users say very good things about it.

Great shots, this Olympus is a nice little shooter! I'm going to have to load her up and take her out for a spin, see what I get.

These are excellent little cameras. Olympus often led the pack in terms of coming up with something different.

I had one of these and sold it. Then bought another.

If it has the original foam seals, you'll want to replace those.

It's a very sturdy camera and well made. I think that you'll definitely enjoy using it.

It probably does have the original seals, but finances being what they are now, a replacement will have to wait.
