After seeing Bill's photo of a Royal Enfield motorcycle in one of his posts, I never thought I'd see one in Roanoke. Turns out that just down the road a bit is a cycle shop owner that has two of them, though one is a parts mule. I was on the way home when I saw it, so when I got here, I grabbed the digicam, and headed back out to get some shots, hoping it was still in the lot.
There was a pick-up parked in the background, which was going to mess up any shots I could get of it, and as I was lining up for the first shot, the owner comes out and starts chatting me up about the bike. He's put a lot of work into it, rebuilding the engine after the previous owner wrecked the crank and bearings. He made a bracket to connect the two rear shock absorber towers together, and now the rear end is more stable. And he fabricated the mounts for the side-car that he is restoring. Still a ways to go on the whole package, but it looks great already.
And it was his truck in the background (not the black one you see), and he was getting ready to leave, so that solved the photo problem.
