Sad but not surprising, most of the older photographers who got on the digital bandwagon ages ago were shooting slide film by the crate load. There's one lab left in Greater Toronto, metropolitan area of almost 6 million people that processes E-6.

Bill, one lab in 6 million?  Yikes. I should be glad then that I still have a local lab at all (in a metro area of about 200,000) that does E6 -- even if I have to wait up to six months before they do a run!

I've got about ten rolls in there now waiting that run.

When E6 films disappear altogether I'll miss them.  They really are very different from C41.

Oi - I didn't know it was that bad in TO.

Luckily, for now we still have a lab in downtown Ottawa that does next-day E-6 (an extra day if you want scans or mounting).  $10.99/roll iirc + $4.99 for low-res scans that are pretty good.

It is pretty sad for Toronto, I am fortunate there are still people running C-41 labs because I love my Kodak Ektar 100 and Portra.

Wow -ugly.  I have a box full of 4x5 Provia in the freezer - might should look into shooting it.  Think we have a lab local that will do 4x5 chromes; elsenhow, I'll be home-developing it.

I used to buy transparency film (Fuji) by the case. Velvia was arguably the best color E-6 film ever.

Sad sign of the times.

If they cut Acros it will be dire times.
