I got the camera a while ago and I mailed it five days later to the next person. I will very soon be mailing Craig 4 rolls of 120 film for scanning.

I have completed my work here, and will mail CE the four rolls of 120 film. It took some time to get the B&W film developed.

Thanks, Craig. By the way, I may have to get a medium format scanner (cheap one) to reduce the cost of making prints. What do you use to make the prints? I have a Mikrotek flatbed scanner and a 35mm photo scanner.

Epson 3170 is what I use. I think Kovacs and Headland agree on this one as well.

The first B&W film looks horrible. Not your fault, Craig, but mine. I hope that the other B&W film looks better. Most of the color photos were taken in the historical district of downtown Pensacola. Nothing good looking ... oh well.

The ShurFlash seems to thrive on color film. ind of surprising since the color film of te day was so awfully slow campared to now. I was surprised at how well 160VC did in it. Good job, Raid.

Craig: lol ... I like this. I guess, you look for the non-standard, unusual effects that are not planned beforehand with such cameras. Actually, you are right about it. It is easier to get "nice" photos with modern lenses. Thanks again for your efforts here.

Glenn: I had to go back to my PN posting to recall which types of film I used. I wrote: "I tried Fuji Reala, Kodak B&W C-41 film, Fuji 100, Efke 50 B&W and lastly Fuji 400" This can't be correct since I only had four rolls of film. Craig can tell us which negatives he scanned. Both the Reala and the Fuji 100 (if used) are way outdated. None of the color film used was in date.

Hmmmm - the camera's  outdated, too, so it kind of evens it out. I think my 160VC is 6 or 6 years past it's prime.

I can't figure out having light leaks with B&W film but none with color. Only difference is facing open beach area with strong sunlight vs. semi-shade for color. I guess, this could be an explanation.

I may have an answer for you. The film with all the "light leaks" is likely Efke. Look closely and you will see that all the light struck the film from the side. Efke paper does not fit very tight against the edge of the spool and this problem is fairly common on cameras relying on a ruby window for frame counting. Also, loading and unloading is tricky with this film if you want to avoid the problem. So, beware, future users. If you use Efke, keep black tape over the window and load/unload in dim light. Watch out when winding, too.
