35mm Nikkor-NC Auto. Exposures are of bracketed sets. Something I'm going to do religiously from now on for static compositions, this bracketing. Basically taking sample readings via F4's spotmeter, then averaging, then working a bracket 1 to 2 stops either way. I'll shoot a lot more frames and burn film like mad, but film is cheap, too cheap to miss the shot when precaution can be had.

First two are Pan F+, Dev'd in HC110 B for 4 minutes.

Now we're into the Tri-X...

You've got some luscious tones in those too.  I've been wondering if you were using a spot meter, or just winging it.  Now I know.

That last time I did any serious night shooting was about 35 years ago in NYC.  I used tri-X and didn't worry much about nailing the exposure.  It seemed to me that it was likely I was going to get some kind of image on the film, and it was just a matter of more or less detail in the shadows.  That actually worked out ok, but I wasn't going for the kind of nuanced tones that you are getting in these shots.

Mike, thanks. These are daylight shots from this afternoon. I needed to finish the roll of Pan F+ and I wanted to shoot some Tri-X while out. This garage will be torn down soon, I think, so I wanted to explore it while standing.

All these images in a few square feet! A really good exercise in seeing.

07.jpg is a great composition.

And about Tri-X at night, from what I can find, the reciprocity failure is intense with Tri-X. Exposures can quickly get into hour-plus in duration due to RF.

Pan F+ was better for last night, but still, metering for 30 seconds becomes 150 seconds, so not that good.

Fuji Acros is apparently amazing at long exposure work. Very minimal adjustments for exposure. I'll be acquiring some soon.

Ever try Efke 25?  It has amazing recipricity characteristics but is a little red-insensitive.  I'll bet you might get shorter exposures with it than Pan F.

Pan-F isn't bad, certainly not as bad as Tri-X. Pan F+ literature suggests correction around for long exposures (beyond 1/2 second). Metering a 30-sec exposure results in a corrected exposure of 310 seconds, or 5 mins, give or take, which is what I arrived at for the first night shot, the corregated building.

All the images in this thread are during daylight.
