Telephoto is not my favorite focal distance, maybe because I use it very sparingly. Today, as an exercise, I went to my usual stomping grounds armed with a cheap Kalimar 80-200 zoom and the loyal K-1000, and shoot a whole roll of Agfa CN135. Took a polarizer along.

My excuses for posting seven images, just wanted to show a range of what I found interesting in the place when using the telezoom.

Any comments and suggestions will be most welcome! Thanks for looking .

I love number 6!  A lot.  It would look great on the wall, and I rarely say that about colour shots!  I think the ropes leading to the boat really work well.

I am not familiar with the kalimar zoom, but I am assuming it is not a recent lens and is rather big, it's probably fast enough as well (f3.5? or 4.5?).  The polariser must be a bit bigger then the standard 49mm I am used to Wink

Thanks Wimpler! I know you are a BW guy at heart, so I appreciate your kind words very much.

This zoom has a 4.5 to 5.6 aperture, it is not too large. Best feature: it closes down to f32!. I bought it new in 1999, in a NYC store. Single movement controls both focus and zoom. The filter thread is indeed 49 mm.

I don't use the telephotos on my Spotmatic much, but there are certainly times when it is the only way to get the picture.  I think the compresive ability of the telephoto works to your advantage in the shot of the group of boats with the city in the background.  It seems like the buildings might shrink to insignificance with a wider lens, and you've also got a more flattened, graphic look in the foreground.
