It's been my understanding that what you get from printing chromogenic B&W depends on which kind you have.  XP-2 (and the modern Super version) was formulated to be printed in a B&W darkroom, and prints pretty much like a silver-image negative film; it has no orange mask and can even be processed in B&W chemicals and still yield a usable negative (albeit with considerable loss of real film speed).  Kodak's C-41 B&W is formulated to be printed in color mini-lab systems, and has the same orange mask as color negative films, which makes it very difficult to print well on silver gelatin paper unless you use panchromatic paper (now quite hard to find -- the Kodak version, Panalure, has been gone for several years, and the Oriental version has, AFAIK, been gone even longer).

Never let yourself spend 25 years away from the darkroom...

Great photos Raid....I am waiting and longing for :
a. Spring / summer to come to New Brunswick
b. our house possession date so we can move in and I can unpack most of my camera stuff, and revisit my Nikkormat FT2 and 135mm f3.5
and
c. my newly ordered Canon EF 85mm f1.8 lens to arrive.

...all my kid photos these days include toques and snowsuits!

Hi Andre`:

a. We already have warm weather in Florida, so I am not too keen on getting any warmer weather here.
b. Congratulations on having a "new" house. Now don't pile up stuff, as we all do.
c. I see that you use the Canon EF system which reportedly has great lenses. Show us some results.

d. Enjoy.
