I took out my trusted Nikon FE2 with the super sharp Nikkor 105mm/2.5 lens last weekend for some family photography. I used XP2 Super C-41 B&W film. Here are some results:    The entire roll is given here: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=704199The FE2 is a joy to use. It used to be an expensive camera in the past. The shutter speed goes all the way to 4000, with a 1/250 sec flash sync. The Nikkor lens is supposedly identical to the famous 105mm/2.5 for the rangefinder Nikon cameras. Your input is as always appreciated. |

Great! Definately my favourite pictures of your daughters so far. I love the 105mm perspective. Very sharp indeed.
The film seems nice as well.
I have a lens with the same design (105mm f2.5) to use on my m42 bodies, and like it a lot.

My daughter was climbing up a "Monkey Bar" at some playground, and I saw possibilities. I recently had to choose between buying the 85mm or 105mm Nikkor for my rangefinder cameras, and I chose the 85mm lens since I already had the 105mm for the Nikon SLR system. It is a super lens indeed.

Raid,
These are VERY nice! I have difficulty choosing which one is best. The close up of Dana shows feeling. The one of the two kids shows they are so comfortable together. The one of Lina is a good action photo. So, you did well all three times. ...and yes you are truly blessed!
BTW, do your models get a fee for posing?

Thanks, Jack. These are three chosen photos from the roll [for which a link is given]. This lens seems to be especially sharp and also nice for portraits. It is an old and proven design.
I take photos of my daughters nearly every day and I give them treats nearly every day.

All three are excellent, and that lens is outstanding for portrait work. Your children will have a treasure of remembrances.
My favorite one is the first, the close up, because of the expression.

Excellent!! I had my faithful Nikon F2 and its younger brother, F3HP out this weekend. I have newer equipment and digital, but it doesn't get much better than the Nikons such and yours and mine. Dave

I shoot a 4-H national contest every summer, and I take about 95 percent of all the shots with the 105/2.5 Nikkor. If Nikon put magic into any lens, it was this one.

Dennis Thanks, Dennis. I own many portrait lenses, but I now feel that if I am asked to take portraits, I will definitely use this lens. The Canon 85mm/1.2L is not shabby either, but it gives a different look and is very heavy. Raid |

I had this 105 lens unused in my closet for many years. I am glad that I did not sell it. Raid |
