You know you're having a rough night when you see everything in double.

Wow Gene, those are surreal! Love 'em! My fave is the white gloved lady with head in the sky. If that were my camera I'd go an a double exposure tear!

It's interesting how effectively those pictures communicate in spite of the double exposures. In the case of the dancing boy, the effect really adds value. Is that first double lady holding a folding camera?

Laughed my head off over the "no way in hell that's a woman" quip. You know, after seeing the usability of this camera, it's one that I would not mind seeing made into a birdhouse. The others... well, let's say it's an undignified way to spend your last days--is that what YOU would want for yourself? ;-)

The first picture was taken at quite a different time than the double exposure series; maybe there were two different photographers. My guess is that the photographer of the doubles looked down and noticed that the shutter lever stayed down after it was pushed rather than automatically rebounding upward as is the case with most old box cameras and folders with self-cocking shutters. She then made the assumption that the correct way to operate the thing was to push down to open the shutter and pull up to close it. Notice how consistent the interval is between the double exposures. Everything else was done quite skillfully; The light was right, the exposures show the camera was being held solidly, and the framing is good. . . When she got to the last picture on the roll, uncle Harry asked, "How come you're pushing the lever twice for each picture". "Oh, hell", she replied, "no use taking that roll to the drugstore."

It's an efficient way to get "double prints" at the drugstore.
