How to post photos in thread?

I thought we were not doing that here, but using an image hosting service instead.

Embedding is what we do.  Uploading is what we don't do.

You embed an image by including a BBCode tag that cues the board software to include an HTML tag in the generated page, which in turn cues your browser to load the image from a separate server from that presenting the main page.  Despite all the twists and turns, the result is that the image appears "inline" with the text, which IMO is better than having it appear as an attachment at the bottom of the message, anyway.

CE's example referred to the url of an image that is part of this BBS, but you can refer to any hosted image, such as this example at my Photobucket site:

Well, imbedded is how we do it here, but the important thing for Brad to know that he must present the image from a server of his choice for it to be viewed on the forum here, and that the image will not reside on the Nelsonphoto server. Is this a correct statement?

What I did was to post my photo on my website & then linked it to this site. I guess what I did was correct because it shows up in my post. Am I correct?
